Conditional Presence is an installation that is composed of several physical and digital artworks that are all centered around the process and idea of feedback loops. Using active feedback loops and artifacts from time-based processes similar to feedback, I focus on the amorphous nature of memory, circumstance, and how they relate to our ability to understand. The inherently reductive process of observation, memorization, and action are all distilled into fixed and incomplete instances so that we may utilize information to continue this accumulative process.
Conditional Presence is the MFA thesis exhibition by Justin Spillers held in Fosdick-Nelson Gallery in Alfred, New York, 2023.
